"The magazine [...] is the work of the Bard College Berlin fiction workshop LT212: Reading into Writing, taught by Paul Festa. The 2016 group began the effort under the name "The Good Squid," a reference to the variety of ways student submissions over the course of the term had mangled the name of Jennifer Egan's short-story collection "A Visit from the Goon Squad." The 2017 workshop completed it as "The Pankow Rat," having mangled things our own way."
From the Preface.
